Over the past nine years these trees have grown to a point where nearby volunteer Norway maples now hover over them shading them from the sun. The Cherries now have stunted growth and their architecture is beginning to suffer. The Norways require uplifting and in some small cases, outright removal. Hartney Greymont's Arborist Representative Jonah Fine contacted the current Watertown Tree Warden, Chris Hayward about offering their services for the MAA's Arbor Day of Service program. Their offer was much appreciated and this fine line of cherries will be the beneficiary of their efforts. |
